ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - Central Florida welcomed the first newborn of 2014 at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday.
Nickali Woods was born at Florida Hospital Altamonte, weighing 8 pounds and 13 ounces.
Nickali was originally due Christmas Eve, but decided to wait a week.
Brittani Gorman and Michael Woods are the proud parents.
Mom spent 15 hours in labor before her bundle of joy arrived.
"Didn't plan it. Did not plan it at all. It's like, 'Wow! He's the first baby of 2014,'" she said.
The baby is healthy and
family members said they are happy.
