Former board member for Marion County charter school arrested on sex crimes warrant

An advisor and former board member for a Marion County charter school was arrested on sex crime charges.
Roland Chabot was wanted out of Michigan for the crimes, but was arrested Monday at his home in Marion County.
Investigators said Chabot, who is affiliated with Ocali Charter Middle School, is a fugitive from Michigan.
According to a report, he was wanted on three counts of criminal sexual conduct and two counts of indecent exposure.

The school’s executive director, Teecy Matthews, said she didn’t know much about the case.
“We were just aware of the mug shot,” said Teecy Matthews. “He resigned from the board of trustees.”
She said Chabot stayed on as an advisor, but does not have anything to do with students or day-to-day school operations.
Channel 9 contacted police in Michigan to get more details about the crimes but has not heard back.
