Ex-city official to pay victim in Biketoberfest beating

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A former Daytona Beach city official must pay thousands of dollars to a man he's accused of beating up.

Police said former building official Mark Criswell attacked David Summers at a bar during Biketoberfest when he wouldn't turn the music down.

In addition to the payouts, Criswell was sentenced to four years of drug probation.

Summers is also suing the city.
