ORLANDO, Fla. — A 22-year-old foreign exchange student from France was struck by a car and killed near the University of Central Florida early Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers said Geoffrey Pimpernelle was improperly crossing University Boulevard near Technological Avenue when he walked into the path of 22-year-old Catherine Jacqueline Eads’ Honda Civic.

Eads tested negative for alcohol.
