Authorities say a 42-year-old man sought for a woman's slaying in Florida 15 years ago has been caught in western New York.
Police in the city of Canandaigua, 25 miles southeast of Rochester, tell local media outlets that Rodney Bice was arrested Tuesday evening.
Bice was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the 1998 death of 31-year-old Jacqueline Sheehan in Seminole County in central Florida.
Police say Sheehan disappeared April 15, 1998. Her body was found in a wooded area near Longwood the following week. It was found about two miles from her home.
Detectives said that when they found Sheehan's body, it was so badly decomposed they didn't know if it was a man or a woman. Investigators used jewelry to identify her.
Investigators from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office were present when Bice was taken into custody in Canandaigua. He's being held in the Ontario County Jail without bail.
