Fund set up for theater shooting victim's family

TAMPA, Fla. — A trust fund has been established to help the family of the man who was fatally shot in a Florida movie theater.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that in a statement issued Thursday night, attorneys for the family of 43-year-old Chad Oulson say the trust fund's details will be released shortly.

The statement said that Oulson's wife, Nicole, was undergoing surgery and other treatment. The Oulsons were shot Monday afternoon at a movie theater in Wesley Chapel during an argument with a 71-year-old man over texting. Curtis Reeves is charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bail.

Nicole Oulson's lawyers say she is "grieving the death of her husband" and comforting the couple's young daughter.

The statement says Nicole Oulson will "make further statements when she can."
