FWC to host public webinars on bear management

CENTRAL FLORIDA — The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will host three public webinars to discuss the black bear management program.
 
FWC offficials will discuss new population estimates, bear range updates for 2016, Bear Wise communities, results of the 2015 bear hunt and input regarding a possible 2016 bear hunt.
 
The webinars will be held May 26, 31 and June 2, each beginning at 6 p.m. Those interested in viewing must register for their desired session at www.surveymonkey.com/r/FWCBear.
 
"These webinars give the public an opportunity to have their questions answered in real time," bear management coordinator David Telesco said. "They also add to the FWC channels already in place for gathering public feedback including email, social media, phone, Ask FWC, bear stakeholder group meetings and commission meetings."
