George Zimmerman pulled over for speeding in Texas

DALLAS — George Zimmerman got a break from Texas police this week.

Zimmerman was left with a warning following a traffic stop for speeding in Forney, Texas, about 25 minutes from Dallas.

A member of his defense team reportedly said Zimmerman is on a road trip, but his attorney, Mark O'Mara, is not commenting on where he is or where he is going.

Zimmerman's family released a statement after the traffic stop: "Our family receives innumerable death threats on a daily basis. We all continue to take our security and privacy very seriously and go to great lengths to ensure our safety in accordance with the law. Despite the truth coming to light in a court of law, persistent circulation of misinformation and speculation continues to put us all at risk, especially George. Speculation as to any family members' whereabouts - either by the press, or by individuals - is irresponsible and counterproductive."

Zimmerman was driving a 2008 gray Honda with Florida tags, according to a Forney police department report.
