Girl, 9, stabbed as she jumped on dad's back who had knife in pocket

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A 9-year-old girl in Brevard County was accidentally stabbed, investigators said.

The incident happened Tuesday night at a condo on Fiske Boulevard in Rockledge.

Investigators said the girl's father had a knife in his back pocket after taking it away from her younger brother.

Shortly after, officers said, the girl playfully jumped on her dad's back and was stabbed in the stomach.

She was airlifted to the hospital in stable condition.
