Girl Scouts ask for donations to send cookies to soldiers overseas

ORLANDO, Fla. — Local Girl Scout troops are asking people to buy cookies and donate them to soldiers serving overseas.

Girl Scout cookies are one of the most requested items by soldiers and for good reason, WFTV found out.

"You got your MRE, Meal Ready to Eat, then you see that cookie; it's good it's a taste of home," said Staff Sgt. Douglas Hoffman of the U.S. Army.

Local scout troops are sending the donated cookies as part of "The Troops to Troops" program.

To donate to the program, call:  407-228-1646.
