Winter Park man found dead in apartment

GOLDENROD, Fla. — A Winter Park man was found dead in his apartment Friday evening, and his death is being investigated as a homicide.

Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office were called out to the Sun Bay Apartment Homes on Aloma Avenue around 9 p.m. Friday to perform a well-being check on a man after he didn’t show up to pick up his wife from work.

The woman managed to get a ride home with someone else. She arrived to the apartment complex at the same time as deputies, who found the body of a white man in his 40s inside the apartment.

Officials say his body had visible trauma.

Officers have not released the man's name, and have not said how the man was killed or a motive for the crime.
