Golfer fishing ball out of water gets attacked by gator

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A Polk County golfer is recovering after being attacked by an alligator.

Al Miller, 75, was fishing a ball out of a water hazard at a Lake Wales golf course when a nine foot alligator latched onto him.

Miller said the gator had a tight hold on his arm, and then for some reason just let go.

His friends were then able to pull him to safety.

The gator was later caught and killed.
