Grandfather shoots grandson on Grand Street, Orlando Police Department says

ORLANDO, Fla. — One person was injured and another was taken into custody Friday after a shooting in the 900 block of Grand Street, the Orlando Police Department said.

The condition of the person injured in the shooting was not available.

Police said the shooting stemmed from a domestic incident between a grandfather and his grandson.

The older man allegedly shot his grandson, investigators said.

The grandson's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

Neighbor Loveta White said nothing like the shooting had ever happened at the home before.

"I heard a loud 'bam,' like something fell," she said. "But the dog was really barking, that really called my attention to come outside."

When she went outside, White said her neighbor's home was surrounded by police officers.

"I see the police with the guns, you know, out and everything, and they was asking the person to come on out the house," she said. "I have never seen nothing like this. This is why it was really surprising to me that something like this happened right next door to me."

No other information was immediately released by police on the incident.
