Group upset with new plans for high-rise building in downtown Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando leaders are considering plans to build a 28-story apartment complex near Lake Eola in the heart of downtown.

The project includes 215 multi-family units and 25,000 square feet of commercial space on East Central Boulevard near the library.

Several buildings would have to come down before the project could start.

While no one showed up to petition against the building itself, one of their potential future neighbors had several concerns.

Members of the Rosalind Club spoke out at the appearance review board.

They take issue with getting in and out of the parking garage which would be on Rosalind Avenue.

They believe it will be dangerous because of the amount of traffic on the street already.

An attorney for the building developer said they are trying to work with the Rosalind Club to address its concerns.
