Groveland police bust marijuana grow house

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Groveland police arrested a woman and confiscated about 30 to 35 marijuana plants from what officers said was a grow house on Peregrine Street Wednesday.

Jacki Robert Mills was arrested and charged with child neglect because a child was found inside the home.

Officers were on a routine patrol when they noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from a house on the street.

They contacted the person inside the house and got permission to search it. That's when they found the grow house, they said.

Officers notified narcotics officers, along with the Lake County Sheriff's Office drug task force, who all responded to the scene.

Officials obtained a search warrant and seized the plants and paraphernalia used to grow the marijuana.
