Seminole County teacher accused of having sex with student 3 times at Oviedo apartment

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A high school teacher's assistant in Seminole County bonded out of jail late Thursday night after he was arrested on charges of sexual assault on a student.

Hagerty High School employee and assistant football coach William Nordin, 26, was charged with two counts of sexual assault against a 17-year-old.

Deputies got a tip that Nordin was sending inappropriate messages to several girls.  Detectives said the texts weren’t sexual but during the investigation one of the girls admitted to having sex with Nordin three times at his Oviedo apartment.

According to an arrest affidavit, Nordin "did not disclose that any sexual intercourse had occurred."

Nordin was hired in 2012 as an assistant football coach and in 2013 as an assistant teacher who supervised virtual courses and handled in-school suspensions.

Before the accusations came to light, officials said Nordin had already left the district because he was not reappointed.

Deputies would not say who tipped them off to the inappropriate texts.
