Hearing canceled for person of interest in central Fla. fires

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A person of interest in a central Florida arson case was set to face a judge Thursday afternoon, but the hearing was canceled.

Steven Angle's hearing was not for the fires. It was for a 2011 rape case.

Angle is being held without bail in the Volusia County Jail.

Seminole County deputies said they arrested Angle last year because DNA tied him to a case where a woman was raped after she was waiting for a bus.

Angle has not been charged or even named a suspect in the arson case, but investigators have been talking to him about the fires that had been popping up across central Florida from Orlando to Sanford, to Volusia County.
