Police said that shortly after filling out a job application at an Ocala Citgo gas station on Tuesday, Anthony Thomas, 33, took $130 in cash from a drawer and walked out the door.
Officers tracked him down, but Thomas fought them off. Three officers finally captured Thomas, who was arrested.
Police say Thomas still had the cash on him.
Thomas is charged with burglary, petit theft and resisting an officer with violence. He remained in the Marion County Jail on Wednesday morning.
Thomas told the Star-Banner he "didn't rob no store."
