Boy arrested for allegedly breaking Dunkin Donuts drive through window, police say

TAVARES, Fla. — A juvenile was arrested on suspicion he broke a Dunkin' Donuts drive-through window and stole the cash register, the Tavares Police Department said.

Employees at the Dunkin Donuts on South Duncan Drive said they heard the drive-through window shatter around 4:40 a.m. Saturday and saw someone throw something through the window on the security cameras.

Officers said employees told them they saw a boy, who was a red sweatshirt and a bandanna, make off with a cash register after grabbing it through the window.

An officer arrived at the Dunkin Donuts while the boy was still on the property.

Police said the boy ran upon seeing the police vehicle, despite police shouting for him to stop.

Police caught up with the boy behind a house near Mansfield Road and used a taser on him while he tried to climb a chain link fence, officers said.
