Judge denies defense request to question Trayvon Martin family attorney

SANFORD, Fla. — Today, a judge denied a request by George Zimmerman's attorney to question Trayvon Martin's family attorney, under oath.

Zimmerman's attorneys wanted to ask Benjamin Crump, about a recorded interview he did with a girl who claimed she was on the phone with Martin the night he was shot and killed by Zimmerman.

The judge also denied a request for the girl's address.

Following the ruling, Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Mara voiced some frustration with the decision.

"I've never been so restricted in any other case I've been in, and I don't quite get why," said O'Mara.

Judge Debra Nelson did grant a defense motion that forces Martin's parents and girlfriend to give up all recordings they have of Martin's voice from the past three years.

Zimmerman's trial is set for June.
