KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Some students from schools in Kissimmee will join members of the Kissimmee Police Department to do some holiday shopping Tuesday.
Forty-five students will each receive a $100 Walmart gift card to use as they participate in the "Shop with a Cop" event.
"This is one of the best programs that the Kissimmee Police Department is involved with," said Kissimmee Police Chief Lee Massie in a release issued by his department. "It's heartwarming to see the smiles on the faces of these children."
The students, who come from families facing financial difficulties, will also be treated to lunch at the police department.
The department has already taken another 45 students shopping through the program this month.
