Lake County School District leaders wrap meeting with Eustis school employees

EUSTIS, Fla. — Lake County School District leaders wrapped a meeting with Eustis Middle School faculty and staff after they received a letter claiming they were victims of bullying at the hands of school administrators.

Leaders surveyed employees of the school about their working environment days after they received the anonymous letter from "concerned teachers" of the school.

One of the complaints was that Principal Jonathan Owens rarely leaves his office.

A district spokesperson said they were unaware of the problems inside the school, but they take the complaint very seriously.

Union leaders said they may hesitate to speak out, because Lake County teachers are on one-year contracts, which could be the main reason the letter was sent anonymously.

The employee's answers were anonymous, sealed and sent to the superintendent for review.
