LAKE MARY, Fla. - A Lake Mary teenager is dead after his car crashed into a tree and burst into flames, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said Brandon Thai, 17, was driving a Nissan east on Interstate 4 near the County Road 46-A exit around 11:11 p.m. when the car swerved off the interstate and crashed into a tree.
A Seminole County deputy who was driving in the opposite direction on I-4 at the time tried to rescue the teen from the crash, pulling him from the vehicle.
