Lindsay Lohan's stepmom claims she kicked Florida police officer in self-defense

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Actress Lindsay Lohan's stepmother is accused of assaulting a police officer following a domestic disturbance in South Florida.

Jail records show 33-year-old Kate Lohan was arrested Sunday at about 1 a.m. on charges of disorderly intoxication and battery on a law enforcement officer.

News media outlets report arrest documents say officers arriving at a Delray Beach home found Kate Lohan yelling and apparently drunk.

Police say her husband, 56-year-old Michael Lohan, Lindsay Lohan's father, refused to let her inside his home.

Police say Kate Lohan threatened to throw a bag of ice in an officer's face.

She was arrested after trying to lunge past an officer to get inside the home.

While walking her to a patrol car, police say Kate Lohan kicked an officer in the leg.

Kate Lohan told a local media outlet she was trying to protect herself.

She was released from Palm Bay County Jail at about 3:07 p.m.
