Loose emus cause delays on Eustis road

EUSTIS, Fla. — Two emus on the loose in Eustis caused delays for drivers Wednesday.

Lake County deputies said they are searching for the owner of the emus.

"So traffic is being held up because an emu is on the loose," said a driver. "You don't see this every day."

Officials said the two emus were running along State Road 44.

One of the large birds was cornered by a deputy.

Officials said the other emu died during capture because it panicked.
