Man accused of pouring gas on floor, threatening to burn down house with sister inside

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orange County man was arrested recently after allegedly pouring gasoline all over the floor and telling his sister he was going to burn the house down with her and her family inside, deputies said.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Avalon Park home late Thursday to find a pan smoking on the stove and the victim hiding upstairs, officials said.

The woman told deputies that she woke up to her brother screaming in the hallway about burning down the home.

“(He) said to her, ‘I’m burning the house down with everyone in it. The dogs, the furniture and you,’” the woman told investigators.

The man, later identified as Michael Dabrowski, then poured gasoline from a can onto the floor, deputies said.

Dabrowski’s sister was shaken by the incident, but told Channel 9 that she didn’t think her brother intended to kill her.

The man was found a short time later and was arrested, investigators said.

Neighbor Daschel Miller was home when deputies and firefighters arrived at the home.

Along with injuring people inside the home, he was concerned that if Dabrowski had followed through, the blaze could have spread to other nearby houses.

“Yes, it’s been raining, but the fire could have spread between houses and anything like that, so it’s pretty scary,” Miller said.

Dabrowski faces charges of attempted murder, attempted arson and resisting arrest.
