ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man accused of trying to rape a woman at an Orange County apartment complex is behind bars, the county Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Shannon Valrie, 29, in early May, about a month after releasing a sketch.
Deputies said Valrie followed a woman into her unit at the Grande Pointe Apartments on Americana Boulevard after she returned from taking out the trash in early April.
Once in her apartment, Valrie attempted to sexually batter the woman, deputies said, and threatened her with a weapon.
Deputies said he fled after the victim’s baby started crying.
Shannon is being held in the Orange County jail after a judge denied him bail.
