Man arrested on child porn charges worked as kid talent scout

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — WFTV obtained arrest reports that outline what an Osceola County man did that landed him in jail on child pornography charges.

John Baker was arrested on child pornography charges two weeks ago at his business in Celebration.

WFTV's Ryan Hughes found out Baker also worked with several local theme parks.

According to the report, the 29-year-old also worked as a talent scout and judged children's talent shows.

Baker  identified children from pictures in event brochures and used social media to get in touch with them, investigators said.

In one instance, the report said he posed as a 15-year-old girl online so he could talk to an 11-year-old girl.

It's not clear what he told her, but somehow he got her and other girls to send him sexually explicit videos that he sent to others, according to investigators.

Authorities said Baker is also a creative director at production firm JB Creative and he's worked with Universal Orlando, Walt Disney World and the Gaylord Palms.

WFTV stopped by his office on Thursday, which is right across the street from the Celebration K-8 School.

The investigation into Baker went on for at least two years, all while he worked so close to school kids.

The arrest papers also said he had at least 10 pictures on his computer that show children engaged in sexual activity.

He remains in the Seminole County Jail without bail.
