Man arrested in stabbing death of Daytona Beach Shores mother of three

A 25-year-old man was arrested Thursday on charges of killing a mother of three in Volusia County, investigators said.
Authorities said Darron Woodberry, of South Daytona, was pulled over by Officer Darius DeBarros for speeding at about 4:30 a.m. on the same day as he was leaving the Hawaiian Inn, investigators said.
About an hour later, the officer was dispatched to the inn, where he tried to resuscitate Cerruti, authorities said.
“This was just a matter of a young officer out here in the middle of the night doing good police work, which led us to our suspect,” said Stephan L. Dembinsky with the Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety.
Investigators said they identified Woodberry by matching the inn’s surveillance video with DeBarros’ body camera when he pulled Woodberry over.
“Our detectives have been working on this case around the clock. They wouldn't stop until they could make this arrest,” said Dembinsky.
During the investigation, Woodberry had been tied to Cerruti through phone and text records, as well as biological evidence, investigators said.
