'She's saying she can't breathe': 911 calls describe what led up to livestreamed shootout

ORLANDO, Fla. — Recordings of frantic 911 calls stemming from a domestic incident that led to a police shootout in February have been released.

Laforest Gray, 23, is accused of shooting at deputies while streaming the incident on social media. In a four-page letter he wrote to a judge, he claims it was all part of a sexual adventure between he and his wife.

The incident took place at the Citra at the Windemere apartment complex. Neighbors called 911 saying a man was dragging a woman by her hair.

"We saw a guy pulling a girl's hair in the middle of the street," said one caller.

"Help us. There's a man beating up a woman in the road here, and she's saying she can't breathe," another said.

Investigators said upon arrival, Gray pulled out a handgun, fired at deputies during a domestic violence incident and captured video of the shootout on his Instagram account.

No one was hurt in the shooting, wherein officials said Gray shot first.

"I am an artist, not a criminal," Gray wrote in the letter to the judge.

Gray asked the judge to drop all charges. He claims he and his wife are adult entertainers with over 70,000 followers on Instagram.

Gray also wrote, "In our role playing adventures, we have traveled, purchased specific items, added other members and have acted the part in our videos."

The judge ended up denying the motion by striking it.

Gray remains jailed on charges that include attempted murder of a police officer.
