Suspect escapes custody through back door in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Channel 9 has learned a man in police custody escaped through a rear door at the Orange County Central Operations Center on Wednesday.

Authorities said  Jean Barreau was arrested on an active warrant and was taken to the OPS to be interviewed by detectives about 1:30 p.m.

About 15 minutes later, authorities said Barreau escaped through a rear door.

Additional units and a K9 squad was brought in, but were not able to catch Barreau.

Deputies said he was wearing camo cargo shorts and a white t-shirt with gold lettering.

They said Barreau wasn't armed when he escaped.
