Man dies after being shot in head during home invasion

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — The victim of a home invasion in Altamonte Springs has died.

Deputies said two men broke into the house on Pine Street Wednesday and shot the renter after they tried to rob him.

WFTV talked to Brent Roux's mother who said she is offering a $5,000 reward to find her son's killers. Crimeline is also offering a $5,000 reward for anyone who can provide information leading to the men who shot Roux.

Roux died at the hospital on Thursday, deputies said.

The 36-year-old and his friend were hanging out at the home when two men burst through the front door with guns, deputies said.

After the home invaders robbed him, Roux's mom, Kim Roux, said they shot him in the back of the head and ran away.

"He had to shoot my baby in the head, he had to do it, and he already got everything he wanted from him. Why he shot him in the head? I don't know only he know," said Kim Roux.

Investigators said they are following up on several leads.
