Man drowns in pond at Orlando park

ORLANDO, Fla. — A 34-year-old man drowned in a small Orlando pond, according to police.

Police said Hector Sepulveda was swimming in the pond at Southport Community Park near the Orlando International Airport Sunday.

Neighbors said the lake is shallow and dirty, and have no idea why anyone would want to swim there.

"It's unbelievable. You cannot swim in that lake because the contamination is, wow, huge," said neighbor Pastor Samuel Mendez.

Orlando police said they are investigating the incident, but believe the drowning was accidental.
