Man hospitalized, attacker sought after fight outside George's Hideaway in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — A 59-year-old man suffered “extensive life-threatening injuries” Tuesday evening after a confrontation with another man outside an Orlando bar, deputies said.

Deputies said Kevin Dunn confronted a man whom he accused of stealing money from him outside George’s Hideaway bar on Edgewater Drive.

The man punched Dunn, causing him to fall and hit his head, deputies said.

Dunn became unresponsive and someone performed CPR on him, authorities said.

Orange County Fire Rescue took Dunn to Florida Hospital.

The altercation was caught on surveillance video.

Dunn, who is a regular customer, left a tip for the bartender, and then walked outside.

A man shown in surveillance video picked up the cash and walked out.

Authorities said Dunn somehow found out about the swiped tip and the men exchanged words. A fight broke out and that is when Dunn was punched, deputies said.

"One punch, at least, was thrown that sends the victim to the ground and causes great bodily harm," said Jeff Williamson of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Bar staff and other customers said they do not know the man who deputies said threw the punch.

"A person is very critical, possibly might lose their life, over this particular incident. It's tragic," said Dunn.

Deputies said the culprit is facing aggravated battery charges, and if Dunn dies, the charges could be upgraded.

Anyone with information on the identity the culprit is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
