Man injured in shooting outside Orange County bar

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man is recovering after being shot near a bar in east Orange County.

Deputies said the man was driving his car on South Alafaya Trail and Curry Ford Road when he was shot.

Deputies believe the man may have gotten into some kind of fight with people at the bar and someone shot him as he later drove away.

He stopped his car at the intersection and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Crime scene tape surrounded the bar as deputies escorted patrons out of the building.

“It really does surprise me. That was the first shooting we ever had here in a while,” said Daniel Santos, who works at one of the neighboring businesses in the plaza.

Santos worries the constant problems and unwanted attention to the lounge may drive away their customers.

“If it’s an ongoing thing it may deter them from coming to this plaza,” said Chirag Amin, who also works by the business.

Authorities have not released any other information about what led to the shooting.
