Man in 'Iron Man' mask robs Flagler Wells Fargo

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — Flagler County deputies said they are searching for a crook who robbed a bank disguised as a superhero.

The robbery happened at a Wells Fargo bank on Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast Thursday afternoon.

The robber was caught on camera wearing an "Iron Man" mask and holding a gun in one hand and a backpack in the other.

Surveillance video obtained by Channel 9 shows the robber sliding into the teller area and then jumping the counter.

“He was in a tan jumpsuit and he was wearing a mask that looked like ‘Iron Man,’” said Lt. Bob Weber of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. “If there was any dialogue that happened to transpire during the incident, something like that, if that information comes out, it may be of any value."

Deputies said there were about seven to 10 people inside the bank at the time of the robbery.

Once a teller gave the man cash, he put it into the duffle bag and sped off in a maroon-colored car with a Florida license plate.

“We've seen them leaving the area in a maroon- or a burgundy-colored small compact vehicle, possibly a Nissan or a Honda," said Weber.

No injuries were reported.
