Man killed during Orlando Caribbean festival

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando police are looking for witnesses to a homicide at a family music festival near the Citrus Bowl Sunday night.

Police said 31-year-old Karl Bess was killed during the Hype Reloaded Caribbean Family Festival.

Investigators believe Bess got into a fight and was left for dead, but they're not saying how he was killed.

"As that crowd cleared, law enforcement discovered that the victim had been injured," said Sgt. Jim Young of the Orlando Police Department. "He was given medical attention but later died."

Police said they found Bess' car more than 12 hours later parked in a nearby field.

Police said they believe he went to the festival with some friends, but no one has come forward.

The music event is advertised as a family festival, and Channel 9 learned off-duty police officers were in the crowd.

Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.
