Man pretending to be guest robs Motel 6 in Cocoa

COCOA, Fla. — A Motel 6 clerk was robbed at gunpoint Thursday morning in Cocoa on West King Street, investigators said.

Authorities said the robbery could be connected to other holdups in Brevard County.

Cocoa police said the armed robber approached the motel desk as if he were a guest, asking for towels.

However, authorities said as soon as the clerk tried to assist, the robber pulled out his gun.

Investigator said the robber is described as a thin black man, carrying a silver handgun.

The description is similar to a gunman from a robbery at a 7-Eleven on Dixon Boulevard, police said.

They are looking into the possibility that the Motel 6 robber could be linked to that case and other recent cases in the area.
