Man shot during robbery in Orange County, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 62-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot during a robbery Sunday night, investigators said.

Deputies said the shooting occurred around 6:24 p.m. while the man was walking on San Antonio Avenue near Americana Boulevard.

The victim told deputies he was approached by a black male who pointed a handgun at him and demanded his property.

During the robbery, the victim was shot, deputies said.

The victim was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, investigators said.

Deputies are working with the victim on a description of the suspect.
