Man shot in head, crashes into Melbourne restaurant

MELBOURNE, Fla. — A man with a gunshot to his head was found in a pickup truck that crashed through a Melbourne restaurant, said Melbourne authorities.
 
The crash happened Tuesday evening at That Little Restaurant on Wickham Road.
 
Authorities said no patrons were injured.
 
Officials said they first thought 49-year-old Jeffrey King had suffered injuries in the crash. But officers said they discovered he had a single gunshot wound to the head.

Officers said they found a firearm at the scene. Detectives said they believe the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

The case remains under investigation.
