Man smashes into 4 cars while stealing repossessed Dodge back from dealer

Orlando police said a car thief is in jail after plowing through several cars to get out of a dealer's parking lot.

Authorities said the suspect's girlfriend's car was repossessed, so he went to Motor Car Concepts near the intersection of South Kirkman and Old Winter Garden roads to steal the car back.

Investigators said Ivenson Desir's girlfriend had not been making payments on the Dodge Magnum she bought at the dealer, so the dealer repossessed the vehicle.

"They said, 'We are not going to pay you anything. We just want our belongings,'" said Robert Montalvo of Motor Car Concepts. "We said, 'Fine, give us the key.' They said, 'We are not giving you the key, either.'"

Workers said they thought things were getting a little suspicious, so they used four cars to block the Dodge in, but it didn't do much good.

Police said Desir slammed into at least four cars to get away, but the 22-year-old didn't get far.

"They are just pushing cars all out the way, it's like a crash derby scene," said Montalvo.

The dealer had GPS in the vehicle, so investigators were able to track it to a home near 36th Street. When they pulled up, Desir told them he just wanted to get his stuff out of the car.

Montalvo said if that was the case, all he had to do was give them the key.

"It was amazing to me. As long as the company has been here, we have never had that," he said.

Desir is facing burglary, grand theft and criminal mischief charges.
