Man sought after luring girl, 9, into Clermont library bathroom

CLERMONT, Fla. — Clermont police are looking for a man who they said led a 9-year-old girl into the bathroom at a library Wednesday.

Surveillance video from the Cooper Memorial Library on Oakley Seaver Drive captured the man for whom police are searching.

Police said they want to question the man about the incident, but did not release additional details about what may have happened in the bathroom.

"I've brought my grandchildren here and I have always felt perfectly safe. That's awful," a grandmother, who asked not to be named, said.

The man was described as between 20 and 30 years old, 6-feet tall and wearing a red polo shirt, khaki pants and white-rimmed glasses.%

Police said he was in the library between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

"At this point we need to talk to him and ask him some questions," Erin Razo of the Clermont Police Department said. "We aren't confident that there was a crime that actually occurred at this point."

Officers said the girl did not need medical attention.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
