Man stabbed by home invader in Apopka, deputies say

APOPKA, Fla. — An Apopka man was taken to the hospital early Tuesday after being stabbed during a home invasion, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man, who was not identified, was taken to Florida Hospital in Apopka with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

The victim told deputies that a man who appeared to be in his 30s forced his way into his home in the 2300 block of Old Dixie Highway just before 4 a.m., demanded property, stabbed him and fled.

The sheriff’s office did not say what events precipitated the stabbing.

The home invader had not been located.

An investigation into the incident was ongoing.
