Man walks into hospital with gunshot wounds to chest, arm

SANFORD, Fla. — Police are investigating a shooting in Sanford neighborhood Wednesday.

Authorities said that at about 10pm Tuesday, Terrence Perkins walked into Central Florida Regional Hospital with two gunshot wounds to the chest and arm.

Police said he would not cooperate with police before going into surgery. Perkins has been moved to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

"It does definitely make things a little bit harder for the investigators. However, we're going to look for any evidence, anything we can find inside the home and information that neighbors will tell us. It's not impossible to solve a case without a victim's cooperation, but it definitely makes our job a lot tougher," said Shannon Cordingly of the Sanford Police Department.

Police said neighbors on Mara Court called 911 to report hearing gunshots.

Officers said they arrived at the Perkins' home on Mara Court and San Lanta Circle and noticed there was forced entry, but they could not go until they obtain a warrant.

A perimeter was placed and officers blocked off the area. Officers said they found shell casings outside the home.
