Man with gunshot wound drives to Orlando Popeyes, officials say

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County deputies are investigating a shooting the ended with a person who had been shot in the chest driving to a Popeyes chicken Saturday afternoon.

Orlando firefighters said they transported a patient with a gunshot wound to Orlando Regional Medical Center a little after 4 p.m. near the corner of Columbia Street and Bruton Avenue.

Deputies said the man was shot about a mile away from the Popeyes in the area of Willie Mays Parkway and Conley Street.

No word on if police are looking for a suspect.

Police have not identified the person who was shot.

Shortly after this shooting, two adults and one child were injured in a separate shooting on Colonial Drive, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

A woman was taken to the hospital, deputies said, after being shot along the 12700 block of East Colonial Drive around 5:10 p.m.

She is expected to survive, deputies said.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Deputies said the other adult and the child were injured in the shooting, but were not taken to the hospital.
