Marion Co. may bring paddling back to schools

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — The Marion County School Board will consider bringing paddling back to schools, WFTV found out Thursday.

Corporal punishment was outlawed in 2010, but last September, board member Carol Ely told WFTV she wanted to bring it back because the punishment always worked during her 40 years as an educator.

The school board will hold its annual Code of Conduct vote on April 23.

Do you think bringing back corporal punishment is a good idea?
