Melbourne man accused of sexually battering motel maid

MELBOURNE, Fla. — A Melbourne man was arrested Monday after he allegedly battered a motel maid at the Super 8 on South Harbor City Boulevard, according to police.

The victim told police she was sitting on a table in the laundry room when the suspect, Jamison Clark, 43, walked in and asked for help using a washing machine.

That’s when, she said, Clark pulled out a knife and set it next to her leg.

She claims he kept his hand on the knife as he performed a sex act, and then forced her to perform a sex act.

The victim said she was afraid for her safety and, in an attempt to get him to stop, told the suspect she could get them a room.

The victim then went to her room and called the desk.

Police said a manager arrived, with his cellphone camera rolling.

“In this situation, we went back and interviewed the victim. And the victim gave us credible information that we believe a sexual battery did occur,” said Cmdr. Dan Lynch of the Melbourne Police Department.

It’s not clear what charges Clark will face.

“Once we have a chance to review the entire case report, we’ll make a decision on what charges we will file,” said Assistant State Attorney Gary Beatty.

In court Tuesday afternoon, Clark denied the allegations and told the judge what he told police, which was that he and the victim were getting high.

“When I stopped giving her the cocaine, that’s when she made the allegations against me. And I’m not a low-life scumbag, judge, I just want to say that,” Clark said.
