Mom arrested while trying to run from cops 1 day after arrest on DUI, child neglect charges

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Volusia County mother who was recently arrested on charges of driving drunk while her 8-year-old son was in the car was arrested again on Saturday on different charges.

Authorities said Sonia Sirol was arrested on Saturday on charges of leaving the scene of a crash and trying to run from officers.

Just one day before Saturday's arrest, Sirol had been arrested on DUI and child neglect charges in New Smyrna Beach, where she nearly caused a crash when she ran a stop sign.
