Motel near Kissimmee to reopen after massive blaze that displaced 250

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — An Osceola County extended-stay motel is expected to reopen Monday almost two months after a massive fire destroyed much of it and displaced more than 250 people.

The Unno Boutique Hotel on East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway near Simpson Road caught fire in the early hours of the morning two days before Christmas.

The fire-ravaged portions of the building were demolished in December, but hotel management said they aim to reopen the sections that were spared from the flames following weeks of repairs.

Investigators said it's believed that someone set the blaze, but no one has been arrested.

Workers on Friday moved furniture into rooms and housekeepers restocked towels and linens.

Property owners said the motel should reopen Monday as long as it passes safety inspections.
