Mother accused of making bomb threat to son's middle school

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A 30-year-old mother was arrested on charges of making a bomb threat to a middle school, Marion County deputies said.

The incident began when Belleview Middle School leaders called Christina Cochran of Summerfield to talk about her child.

Witnesses said when school leaders told Cochran her child needed help because he had made threats, Cochran started using profanity and made the threat to "blow up the school."

Law enforcement officers said they made contact with Cochran at her home and she admitted to making the statement.

Cochran was booked into the Marion County Jail.
